Baldachin Music

Things converge in the music of Baldachin that you rarely find together in a single musical context. Lukas Schiemer (reeds), Benjamin Schiemer (guitar, sitar), and Niklas Satanik (hang, percussion) define the field on which they create and act stylistically very wide, if not completely borderless.

It seems as if there is a little bit of something from everywhere. From the most diverse of musical languages, starting from World Music, to Jazz, to Rock and Blues, up to traditional Indian music. (...) Additionally to the instrumental skills, and the understanding to put all these elements into effective and haunting songs, Baldachin performs with a great deal of passion, and a lot of fun. This ultimately breathes a special kind of life into their music, and loads it with a rare atmosphere.

The melodies of their songs tell stories of landscapes of sound from all kinds of places, painting the listener's mind with a full pallet of experience, be it melancholic, fierce, thrilled or playful. "Kutsche Feuerland" as an album can be, due to its many colors and shades, a lot of fun and, at the same time, very touching. Baldachin proves that you don't have to get lost in the variety of styles, rather, you can use them to your own advantage to create something very special.
