The Real Wabash Cannon Ball

This song tells part of the real Wabash Railroad´s passenger train which ran from 1950 until 1971 from St. Louis to Detroit and back, widely known as the "Wabash Cannon Ball", named after that old folksong. Col. Reb Custer wrote this song to honour the real Wabash Railroad and the proud railroaders who ran their line to wordwide fame, although the railway company got leased to the Norfolk and Western RR and lost its name in 1964, thus the Wabash historical society, railroad museums, modelrailroaders, railfan enthusiasts and Country Rail-Roads music and video conserving this important American heritage line never to be forgotten !
