Begeisterung für Alternative Rock, mit Freunden Songs schreiben, der Proberaum im Keller der Eltern, der Traum von den ganz großen Bühnen: Solche Bandgeschichten gibt es in Deutschland tausendfach. Doch „demote control“ hatte schon immer was Besonderes: Das liegt vor allem an den Songs. Bandmitbegründer und Songwriter Florian Wiesheu gelang es, mit wenigen Akkorden und ein paar Zeilen Text viel rüberzubringen. Sowohl nachdenklich leise, als auch wütend laut. Die Songs blieben hängen zwischen den Ohren, die Melodien können Fans der ersten Stunde auch nach über einem Jahrzehnt noch nachpfeifen. Und: Diese Songs wie „Let me be alone tonight“ oder „Being without you“ sind nach all den Jahren einfach nicht kaputt zu kriegen. Schlagzeuger Harald Depner konnte nicht von ihnen lassen, auch wenn die Band selbst schon lange nicht mehr live gespielt hatte, und schon lange nicht mehr in der Urbesetzung existierte. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail beackerte er das Songmaterial, zog musikalisch neue Ebenen ein, verfeinerte sie zusammen mit Matthias Eder (Gesang), Tim Kugler (Bass) und Bernd Wegener (Keyboards). Die Arbeit hat sich gelohnt: Die 13 Songs dieser Platte sind mehr als nur eine Erinnerung an eine zu Schulzeiten gegründete Band. Das Album verewigt zeitlos schönen Alternative Rock. But “demote control” has always had something special: This is mainly due to the songs. Band co-founder and songwriter Florian Wiesheu succeeded! He managed to create a lot more by only using a few chords and a few lines of text. Thoughtfully quiet, as well as furiously loud and angry. The recognizable hooklines will accompany you for years and the melody remains, even after more than a decade. And: Songs like "Alone tonight" or “Being without you” are after all these years simply not to be demolished. Thanks to Harald Depner (guitars,drums), the songs were revitalized and hooked up all new, even though the band has not played concerts for a while, and had not existed in the original cast anymore. With great attention to detail, he tilled the song material, withdrew musically a new level, refined it with Matthias Eder (vocals), Tim Kugler (bass) and Bernd Wegener (synths). The work has paid off: The 13 songs on this disc are more than just a reminder of an established band at school. The album immortalized timeless alternative rock.
