Menaya Folk “Celtíberos”. Folk-fusion from Soria (Spain) – 13 tracks.
“Celtíberos” (Celtiberians) is the second album from Menaya Folk, a folk-fusion band from Soria (Spain). Despite its small-town cultural background, this 6-musician venture goes several steps beyond their Castilian roots in their quest for forgotten, still valuable treasures in traditional music all around the world and takes all of them down to the modern day. Mixing self-written songs and traditional tunes, they recall the Arabic ancestors, the Celtic reminiscences, even Brazilian bossa-nova groove or 1930´s dancehall hooks, and melt them in a pot full of all-time, old-time village chants rebuilt in a Castilian plateau which has at last started to embrace the 21th century. Recorded, mixed, mastered and released by the band itself, “Celtíberos” is like a time machine: from the past into the present, from the present into the past.

Cristina Barriga (Mutenrohi) – vocals
