Portae Et Ancora

Portals open up new worlds. Anchors are helpful in not loosing the point of reference. Languages sound unknown and in this unfurl an almost magical dance around the sound that speaks of significance which we cannot unravel. This reflects a devotion we do posess that cannot be solved anymore. Because on the outside it cannot stand without context. And on the inside it cannot dismiss its context. This is no dilemma. It only calls for division. Portae et ancora achieves this in two ways. On the one hand by obscuring the symbols and on the other hand by avoiding any and all clichés. Only a few folkloristic elements are being offered for ease. Thus the album contains sinfonic echoes and allusions that continue in simplified rhythms and developed complexity. Pforten öffnen neue Welten. Anker helfen den Bezugspunkt nicht zu verlieren. Sprachen klingen unbekannt und entfalten auf diese Art einen fast magischen Tanz um den Klang, der von Bedeutung kündet, die wir aber nicht auflösen können. Das spiegelt eine Verehrung wieder, die wir zwar haben, die aber nicht mehr auflösbar ist. Weil sie außen nicht ohne Kontext stehen kann. Und innen ihren Kontext nicht aufzugeben vermag. Das aber ist kein Dilemma. Es bedarf nur der Abgrenzung. Portae et Ancora erreicht dies auf zwei Arten. Einerseits durch das Verbergen der Symbole andererseits durch das Vermeiden jedwelcher Clichés. Allein ein paar folkloristische Elemente werden zur Erleichterung angeboten. So umfasst das Album sinfonische Anklänge, die sich in vereinfachten Rhythmen und durchgeführter Komplexität fortsetzen.
